2.3 (114 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

A smooth V6 option, offering a good balance of power and refinement. It's capable on the highway and provides a more relaxed drive than the 4-cylinders.

Fuel Economy

Better than the 2.8 V6s but still not particularly economical. It represents a good compromise for those wanting V6 smoothness without the top-tier fuel bill.

Best Use Case: Mixed Driving / Comfortable Cruising

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Excellent ride comfort for its era
  • • Spacious and luxurious interior (especially Ghia models)
  • • Wide range of engine options, including powerful V6s

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, especially with V6 engines
  • • Dated safety features by modern standards
  • • Prone to rust in older models
  • • Handling can feel ponderous compared to modern cars
