30 (164 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 7 stars

Performance Verdict

The 3.0L V6 (VG30E) provides adequate power for its era, offering smooth acceleration rather than outright sportiness. With 164 Hp and a 10.2-second 0-100 km/h time, it's a comfortable cruiser, not a performance beast.

Fuel Economy

As a naturally aspirated 3.0L V6 from the late 80s paired with a 4-speed automatic, fuel economy is not a strong suit. Expect moderate to high fuel consumption, especially in city driving.

Best Use Case: Highway / Grand Touring

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Smooth and relatively robust V6 engine for its time.
  • • Comfortable and well-appointed interior for a luxury coupe.
  • • Distinctive styling that stands out today.
  • • Rear-wheel-drive platform offers a classic driving feel.

Cons:

  • • Dated 4-speed automatic transmission limits performance and efficiency.
  • • Not particularly sporty or engaging to drive compared to European rivals.
  • • Lack of modern safety features.
  • • Fuel economy is poor by modern standards.
