The Kia Cerato is a compact car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2003. In 2008, the Cerato nameplate was replaced by the Forte nameplate in the North American market and the K3 nameplate in South Korea. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.

1.6 MPI (130 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Sufficient for urban driving, but can feel strained on highways or when fully loaded due to its modest power output and automatic gearbox.

Fuel Economy

Moderate fuel efficiency, with the automatic transmission potentially dulling its overall economy compared to a manual.

Best Use Case: Primarily city driving and light suburban use where high performance is not a priority.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Modern and attractive exterior design
  • • Spacious and well-equipped interior for its class
  • • Good range of efficient and reliable MPI engines
  • • Comfortable ride quality for daily commuting
  • • Strong value proposition with competitive pricing and features

Cons:

  • • Torsion beam rear suspension can be less refined than multi-link setups
  • • Some engine options lack spirited performance, especially the 1.6L automatic
  • • Fuel economy for larger engines with automatic transmission can be average
  • • Steering feel can be somewhat numb compared to rivals
