Daewoo Nexia:

The Daewoo LeMans is a compact car, first manufactured by Daewoo in South Korea between 1986 and 1994, and between 1994 and 1997 as Daewoo Cielo — a car mechanically identical to the LeMans, differentiated only by its modified styling cues. Like all Daewoos preceding it, the LeMans took its underpinnings from a European Opel design. 1.5 i (75 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The 75 Hp combined with an automatic transmission results in rather sluggish acceleration, primarily suited for relaxed city driving where quick maneuvers are not a priority.

Fuel Economy

Despite the lower power, the automatic transmission can sometimes be less efficient than a manual. The stated 6.3 l/100 km is reasonable for its class.

Best Use Case: City driving

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Affordable purchase price and low running costs
  • • Simple, robust, and easy-to-maintain mechanics (Opel Kadett heritage)
  • • Practical hatchback body style with decent cargo space
  • • Good fuel economy on 1.5L manual variants
  • • Reliable for its era if well-maintained

Cons:

  • • Outdated design and safety features by modern standards
  • • Lackluster performance, especially with automatic transmissions
  • • Basic interior quality and limited features
  • • Poor crash test performance (if tested) compared to newer cars
  • • Limited availability of parts in some regions now
