Ford F-350 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.7 V8 Power Stroke TD (400 Hp) Automatic SRW Verdict:

Rating 5 stars

Performance Verdict

Offers outstanding power and torque for heavy towing and hauling, making light work of large loads. The rear-wheel-drive configuration is suitable for most on-road heavy-duty applications.

Fuel Economy

Provides reasonable fuel efficiency for a heavy-duty diesel, especially when not under extreme load, but still a thirsty vehicle. Diesel fuel costs and DEF requirements are factors.

Best Use Case: On-road heavy equipment transport, fifth-wheel RV towing, and commercial hauling where 4x4 isn't frequently needed.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, particularly with the Power Stroke diesel.
  • • Robust and durable construction, built for demanding work.
  • • Available 4x4 and DRW configurations offer immense versatility and stability.
  • • Spacious Super Cab provides ample room for passengers or gear.
  • • Strong resale value for well-maintained models.

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, especially with gasoline engines and under load.
  • • Large size makes it challenging to maneuver and park in urban environments.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff and truck-like, not ideal for comfort-focused drivers.
  • • Higher maintenance costs for the diesel engine (DEF, fuel filters).
  • • Limited advanced safety features compared to modern vehicles.
