GMC Canyon:
The Chevrolet Colorado is a series of compact pickup trucks and mid-size pickup trucks marketed by American automaker General Motors. They were introduced in 2004 to replace the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15/Sonoma compact pickups. The Colorado is named after the U. S. state of Colorado, while the Canyon took its name from the deep chasm between cliffs.
The Chevrolet Colorado and its twin, the GMC Canyon, were jointly designed by GM's North American operations, GM's Brazil operations, and Isuzu, which began selling its own version worldwide in 2002. Production began in October 2003. In late 2005, Isuzu offered a version in North America called the Isuzu i-series. II (facelift 2021) Extended cab Overview:
GMC Canyon (II (facelift 2021) Extended cab). With 373 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1861 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Rear‑wheel drive offers dynamic handling and sporty feedback. A vehicle with an open cargo bed at the back, suitable for transporting goods. Seating for 4 makes it ideal for daily use.
Performance Verdict
Delivers strong and responsive performance, ideal for highway driving and significant towing. Without 4WD, it might feel slightly lighter and more agile.
Fuel Economy
Similar to the 4WD V6, with potentially a marginal improvement in fuel economy due to less drivetrain drag. Still a thirsty engine when pushed.
Best Use Case:
Heavy towing, highway cruising, general utility where 4WD is not a primary requirement, and strong acceleration is desired.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Strong V6 engine option with excellent towing capacity
- • Refreshed exterior styling for 2021
- • Available 4WD for enhanced off-road capability
- • Comfortable interior for a mid-size truck
- • Good balance of utility and daily drivability
Cons:
- • Base 2.5L engine can feel underpowered for some tasks
- • Fuel economy, especially with the V6 4WD, can be high
- • Interior materials in lower trims could be improved
- • Not tested by Euro NCAP (primary market is North America)
- • Rear seat space in Extended Cab is limited
