The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the identically related GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, high-trim level versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name Starting with the LT trim. Standard and "Custom" trims are still called Silverado. 6.0 V8 (301 Hp) Automatic CNG Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

A dual-fuel option providing a balance of gasoline and CNG power, suitable for fleets seeking lower fuel costs, though with slightly reduced power compared to pure gasoline V8s.

Fuel Economy

CNG offers cost savings per mile where available, but the overall range can be limited, and gasoline economy is typical for a large V8 truck.

Best Use Case: Cost-conscious fleet operations, urban delivery, specific environmental mandates, areas with established CNG refueling.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities
  • • Powerful and reliable Duramax diesel engine options
  • • Spacious and comfortable interior for a work truck
  • • Robust build quality and durability
  • • Available 4WD for enhanced off-road and all-weather performance

Cons:

  • • High fuel consumption, especially with gasoline V8s
  • • Large size can be challenging for urban maneuvering and parking
  • • Ride quality can be stiff when unloaded
  • • Interior materials, while durable, may not feel as premium as some rivals
  • • High maintenance costs for heavy-duty components
