Performance Verdict

The 4.7L 2UZ-FE V8 provides smooth, ample power (235 Hp) for a vehicle of this size, ensuring confident acceleration and excellent towing capacity, though it's not designed for sporty performance.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a significant drawback, with a combined consumption of 15.7 l/100 km (approx. 15 MPG US), typical for a large, naturally aspirated V8 SUV of its vintage.

Best Use Case: Ideal for long-distance highway cruising, heavy towing, off-road adventures, and comfortable family transport where fuel efficiency is not the primary concern.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional reliability and durability (2UZ-FE engine)
  • • Luxurious and comfortable interior for long journeys
  • • Outstanding off-road capability and robust build quality
  • • Spacious 8-seater capacity with ample cargo room
  • • Smooth and powerful V8 engine for confident driving and towing

Cons:

  • • Very poor fuel economy, especially in urban driving
  • • Dated infotainment and technology by modern standards
  • • Large size can be cumbersome in tight city environments
  • • Not a performance-oriented SUV, handling is soft
  • • Higher running costs due to fuel consumption and parts for a luxury vehicle
