Mitsubishi Delica:
The Mitsubishi Delica is a range of vans and pickup trucks designed and built by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors since 1968. It was originally based on a cabover van and pickup truck introduced the previous year, also called the Delica, its name a contraction of the English language phrase Delivery car. This pickup truck, and a commercial van derived from it has received many names in export markets, being sold as the L300 in Europe, Jamaica and New Zealand, Express and Starwagon in Australia, and plain Mitsubishi Van and Wagon in the United States. The passenger car versions were known as Delica Star Wagon from 1979 until the 1994 introduction of the Delica Space Gear, which became simply Space Gear in Europe at least. The most recent version is called the Delica D:5. With the exception of the first, versions of all generations are still being sold in various international markets....(Read more on Wikipedia)
D5, facelift 2019 Overview:
Mitsubishi Delica (D5, facelift 2019). With 380 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. It has moderate fuel consumption (~10.3 l/100km). With a weight of 1955 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. All‑wheel drive provides excellent grip, ideal for off‑road use. A spacious vehicle designed to transport passengers comfortably, often with sliding doors. With seating for 8, it’s perfect for larger families.
Performance Verdict
The 145 Hp and 380 Nm from the 2.3 DI-D engine provide sufficient power and torque for daily driving, highway cruising, and light off-road excursions, especially considering the vehicle's size and 4WD system. Acceleration is modest but purposeful.
Fuel Economy
With urban consumption around 10.3 l/100 km and extra-urban at 7.8 l/100 km, the diesel engine offers reasonable fuel economy for a large 4WD minivan. It's efficient for its class, particularly on longer journeys.
Best Use Case:
Ideal for large families, outdoor enthusiasts, and those requiring a versatile vehicle capable of both urban commuting and adventurous trips, including light off-roading.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Excellent 4WD capability for a minivan, enhancing versatility.
- • Spacious and flexible 8-seat interior, ideal for families and cargo.
- • Robust and reliable 2.3 DI-D diesel engine with good torque.
- • Distinctive rugged styling sets it apart from typical minivans.
- • Comfortable ride quality, especially on longer journeys.
Cons:
