Mitsuoka Galue:

The Mitsuoka Galue is a series of luxury cars, based on mainstream Japanese automobiles, customized by Mitsuoka to resemble classic British and American cars.
The first series consists of three generations of medium-to-large cars: the Galue-I, the Galue-II and the Galue-III.
The Galue-I was based on the Nissan Crew, and shared its RB20E 2-litre engine and other mechanical parts with the Crew. The styling of the front and rear was changed to give a more classical appearance; specifically, the chrome grille resembled that found on Bentley models such as the R-type. The rear lights were taken from the Cadillac Fleetwood. The interior was fitted with leather seats and wood trim. Additions such as chrome on the door handles and wire wheels were also available. Expert Note:
The Mitsuoka Galue I was a low-volume, niche vehicle based on a Nissan platform from the late 90s. It was not subjected to Euro NCAP testing. Safety features would be typical for its era, likely including ABS and airbags, but not modern active safety systems.

2.0 (130 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 2.0L RB20E engine provides adequate power for daily driving, focusing on smooth, refined operation rather than spirited acceleration. Its inline-six configuration offers good balance and a pleasant exhaust note, suitable for relaxed cruising.

Fuel Economy

Given its age, automatic transmission, and the car's likely weight, fuel economy will be moderate at best. Expect typical late-90s sedan consumption, not particularly efficient by modern standards, especially in city driving.

Best Use Case: City / Relaxed Highway Cruising

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Unique, distinctive retro styling
  • • Comfortable and smooth ride quality
  • • Reliable Nissan-derived mechanicals (RB20E engine)
  • • Exclusivity due to low production numbers
  • • Refined inline-six engine operation

Cons:

  • • Limited performance from the 2.0L engine for a luxury sedan
  • • Fuel economy not competitive by modern standards
  • • Parts availability can be challenging for unique body panels
  • • Niche appeal limits resale market and broad acceptance
  • • Lack of modern active safety features
