Oldsmobile Cutlass:

The Oldsmobile Cutlass was a series of automobiles produced by the General Motors' Oldsmobile division between 1961 and 1999. At its introduction, the Cutlass was Oldsmobile's entry-level model; it began as a unibody compact car, but saw its greatest success as a body-on-frame intermediate. The Cutlass was named after Vought F7U Cutlass, as well as the type of sword, which was common during the Age of Sail.
Introduced as the top trim level in Oldsmobile's compact F-85 Series, the Cutlass evolved into a distinct series of its own, spawning numerous variants. These included the 4-4-2 muscle car in 1964, the upscale Cutlass Supreme in 1966, the high-performance Hurst/Olds in 1968, and the Vista Cruiser station wagon....(Read more on Wikipedia)

3.3 V6 (162 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 8 stars

Performance Verdict

The 3.3L V6 significantly improved the Ciera Coupe's performance, offering a more confident acceleration and better highway cruising capabilities. It provided a smoother, more refined driving experience compared to the base four-cylinder.

Fuel Economy

While more powerful, the 3.3L V6 naturally consumed more fuel than the 2.5L I4. However, its economy was still competitive for a V6 of its time, balancing power with acceptable running costs.

Best Use Case: Highway / Long Distance Travel

Why in the world are you thinking about making this your daily driver?

You have to expect any vintage low mileage car will never be gas and go and will be a bit of a lifestyle updating its mechanical systems. Me, id daily it, but anything over 15 years old i change all the belts, fluids, and probably new tires and battery. If you can do this fine, but it’s probably not worth it on this car to pay to have these services done, cool as it is. If you can do them yourself

Well that first photo is a stock photo of a 1996 model, so if they’re using that in the listing I’d consider that a bit of a red flag. But it can be done. I daily drive a 1983 Pontiac J-car to the tune of 80 miles a day, here are the things I’ve had to overhaul within 21,000 miles. Note that the only way this is not eating my wallet alive is because I do a lot of the maintenance myself, and for w

When you find a old car with significantly low mileage/ rarely used you have to be wary about the many things that wear out due to lack of use ( hoses, belts, wires seals & tires). Pressing a 36 year old car suddenly into 100 mile a day daily service is sure to cause any of those issues to come out.if you are a handy home mechanic with time it’s doable & might be a fair value but if not b

I had a hand-me-down SL in college... in the late 90s..   It was comfortable and surprisingly reliable for my 80 mile round tip daily..   Not sure how they have held up with the years, but back in the day they would eat up the miles..  pretty sure it had the GM 3300 V6 (low-deck version of the much loved GM 3800)..   Listened to Ben Harper's *Fight for Your Mind* about a zillions times in th

No. Doesn't really matter that it's low miles. All the seals, mechanical parts, tires, hoses, belts, etc. are more than 30 years old. Get ready to replace many of them in the first year.

The car will definitely handle the miles if you keep the maintenance up. The low miles are an indicator it's coming up on all manner of mileage milestone maintenance from front end to transaxle. Have a mechanic you trust check it from front to back and give you a breakdown of what will need replacing and when.

I had an '82 or '83 olds Ciera. Got it in 1996 and it died within a year. It had super low miles and had been garage kept. Maintained by a literal retired Air Force guy. Those cars aren't meant for use. They were junk when new and as a vintage car will be expensive junk to maintain.

The 3300 in this car is basically a de-stroked, de-bored, lower deck version of the 3800 V6 folks get a hard-on for. It was manufactured from 1989 to 1993. These A-body cars were unspectacular, but mechanically straight-forward. That said, it’s a 37 year old grocery getter. The fact it was only driven about 1,600 miles per year will only buy you so much. Beat them up on price by offering cash,

Have you ever thought about protecting your life? And that if your passengers? Older cats will kill you faster in a collision event. Which you don’t control.
