The Peugeot 408 is a crossover SUV produced by French automaker Peugeot. It was unveiled in June 2022 as a C-segment vehicle slotting between the 308 and 3008 or 508. It was publicly exhibited for the first time at the 2022 Paris Motor Show. It is based on the EMP2 platform closely shared with the third-generation 308, and despite sharing the saloon silhouettes, mechanically unrelated to the Chinese market 408 saloon. Peugeot 408 (II). With 230 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1310 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. The top speed reaches 205 km/h. A four-door car with a separate trunk, ideal for families and daily commuting. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
The Peugeot 408 II was not tested by Euro NCAP as it was primarily marketed outside of Europe. It did undergo C-NCAP testing in China, where it generally performed well, reflecting adequate safety for its target markets.
