3500 6.7 HO Cummins TD (350 Hp) 4x4 DRW Verdict:

Rating 5 stars

Performance Verdict

High Output Cummins provides immense power and torque, ideal for the most extreme towing and hauling. 4x4 and Dual Rear Wheels (DRW) enhance traction and stability under heavy loads.

Fuel Economy

Fuel efficiency is secondary to capability; expect similar figures to other heavy-duty diesels, optimized for power delivery rather than MPG.

Best Use Case: Extreme heavy-duty commercial hauling, fifth-wheel towing, off-road capability with heavy loads, severe duty applications.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, especially with Cummins diesel engines.
  • • Durable and robust construction, built for demanding work.
  • • Wide range of configurations (4x4, DRW) to suit specific heavy-duty needs.
  • • Powerful engine options, including the legendary 6.7L Cummins and potent 5.7L Hemi.
  • • Strong resale value for a heavy-duty work truck.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy is a significant consideration, particularly with gasoline Hemi and under heavy loads.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff and truck-like, especially when unladen.
  • • Large size can make maneuvering in urban environments challenging.
  • • Interior features and refinement are basic compared to modern trucks or passenger vehicles.
  • • Higher maintenance costs for diesel engines.
