Subaru Impreza I Coupe (GFC) 2.5 (167 Hp) 4WD

Subaru Impreza:

The Subaru Impreza is a compact car that has been manufactured by the Japanese automaker Subaru since 1992. It was introduced as a replacement for the Leone, with the predecessor's EA series engines replaced by the new EJ series. It is now in its sixth generation.

The firm also offered a coupe from 1995 until 2001, a 4-door sedan up to the fifth generation, and a 5-door wagon from the Impreza's introduction which was replaced by a hatchback with the third generation in 2008. Mainstream versions have received "boxer" flat-four engines ranging from 1. 5- to 2. 5-liters, with the performance-oriented Impreza WRX and WRX STI models upgraded with the addition of turbochargers. Since the third generation series, some markets have adopted the abbreviated Subaru WRX name for these high-performance variants. The first three generations of Impreza were also available with an off-road appearance non-SUV package called the Outback Sport, exclusive to the North American market. For the fourth generation, this appearance package was raised up to be subcompact crossover SUV and renamed the XV , and is sold internationally. Colloquially, the car is sometimes referred to as Scooby....(Read more on Wikipedia)

I get it, this is a special car, with much heritage... but at its core, it’s a late ‘90s Impreza. You could have basically any brand new Aston. You could have a highly optioned Ferrari F8. You could have a Rolls Royce Ghost (well, a plebeian “base” Ghost if such a thing exists). Cars like that 22B are *really cool!* I just don’t see how a ‘90’s Subaru is worth a brand new Rolls Royce.

For a forum ostensibly for car enthusiasts, I'm surprised at the number of people here who have no idea why a 22B is desirable. I guess maybe this forum attracts a lot of non-enthusiasts.

ITT: not understanding speculative car buying... or the value of rare homologation specials... or anything. If a Merc 190E 2.5-16 EVO II is worth ~$220k (which, it is), than this is probably worth at least as much. There are 20% fewer 22bs than there are EVO IIs. Delta S4/Integrale is only slightly more cool than this thing, but nobody would bat an eye if a prime example of one of those went fo

Ok so every car I wanted when I was 16-24 is worth a ton of money right now. So let me ask you 16-24 year olds? What car do you want right now. Maybe I should get one of them???

There's that good ol' Subaru resale value at work. Who wants to buy my base model Outback for $200k? It has paddle shifters!

NO LOWBALLERZ! I KNOW WHAT I HAVE!

In general, Subarus when maintained are as reliable as most things on the road. Every brand has lemons and cars that are plagued with issues. A forester wouldn’t scare me. Just make sure you stay up to date on maintenance and do CVT services. Subaru at one point claimed it was a lifetime fluid for the CVT which is just not true and I’m not sure if they’ve changed that guidance. I’d personally do a
👍 POSITIVE
They’re very reliable. As are the majority of big modern manufacturers. Remember that most people on the internet who will write about their car experiences online will probably be negative no matter the maker. As an Aussie we see thousands of modern CVT Subarus hit past the 100,000mile/160,000km mark in only a few years with no issues whatsoever. The real decider of a car being reliable, unles
