The interior qulality is very good, I drove one Astra to nearly 300.000 km and the interior had no signs of wear. The handling and breaks were best in class when it came out in 2004, the steering is quite heavy and has little asisst, so the steering feel is simply awesome. The suspension is a very good compromise of beeing sporty and being comfortable on long Autobahn trips. And you could order things like adaptive suspension and curve lights, which was the first time they were offered in a compact car. All in all I think the Astra H is one of the best hatchbakcs ever. And it managed the impossible, it dethroned the VW Golf as the best selling car in Germany for a while. Something that is extremly rare.

I've never owned the same type Opel Astra as Saturn Astra was but I've driven them in a lot of occassions, they're still very common cars here in northern Europe. As [u/Doug-DeMuro](https://www.reddit.com/u/Doug-DeMuro) wrote in his article, I also think they're quite cool cars, especially the 3 door version. AND: Lotus was helping with the tuning of the suspension. I'm sure though the most of the [r/cars](https://www.reddit.com/r/cars) people would've been happy if Saturn imported the 2.0 turbo manual station wagon from the Opel catalogue - that thing was fun to drive, somewhat a sleeper, very roomy and inexpensive. It was rated at 200hp but apparently in reality they pushed 10-20hp more. With a tune, you would get aroud 260hp which is OK for a small car like Opel Astra.
