6.0 V8 (360 Hp) SRW Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Competent gasoline V8 power for heavy-duty tasks, offering a balance of capability and a slightly less imposing footprint than DRW models.

Fuel Economy

High fuel consumption is a given for this engine in a heavy-duty application, making it less economical for frequent, heavy use.

Best Use Case: Heavy-duty hauling and towing for users who don't require 4WD or the absolute maximum capacity of DRW, and prefer a gasoline engine.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, especially with the Duramax diesel.
  • • Robust and durable construction designed for heavy-duty work.
  • • Spacious Crew Cab offers comfort for multiple passengers.
  • • Available 4WD and DRW configurations provide versatility for various tasks and terrains.
  • • Powerful engine options (Vortec L96 and Duramax LML) deliver strong performance.

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, particularly with the gasoline V8.
  • • Large size can make maneuvering and parking challenging in urban environments.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff and truck-like when unloaded.
  • • Interior might feel dated compared to more modern trucks.
  • • High purchase price and running costs, especially for diesel variants.
