Ford F-350 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.

The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

Performance Verdict

The 6.2L V8 with 4x4 and SRW offers a robust and versatile package for those needing a capable heavy-duty truck without the top-tier power or cost of the larger engines. It's a solid, dependable performer.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is typical for a large gasoline V8 in a heavy-duty truck. It's a practical choice for those prioritizing initial cost and proven reliability over ultimate efficiency.

Best Use Case: General heavy-duty work, moderate towing and hauling with off-road needs, fleet vehicles, and users who prefer gasoline power for its simplicity.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, especially with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel.
  • • Robust and powerful engine lineup, including the new 7.3L 'Godzilla' V8.
  • • Durable construction and proven reliability for demanding work.
  • • Wide range of configurations (SRW/DRW, 4x2/4x4) to suit diverse needs.
  • • Spacious and functional interior, particularly in Crew Cab models.

Cons:

  • • Large size can make maneuvering in urban environments challenging.
  • • Fuel economy is a significant consideration, especially with gasoline engines.
  • • Ride quality can be firm, particularly when unladen, typical for heavy-duty trucks.
  • • Higher trim levels can become very expensive.
  • • Limited advanced driver-assistance features compared to some passenger vehicles.
