GMC Sierra 3500HD:

The Chevrolet Silverado is a range of trucks manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. Introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado is the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K model line. Taking its name from the top trim level from the Chevrolet C/K series, the Silverado is offered as a series of full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the identically related GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, high-trim level versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name. Competing against the Ford F-Series, Ram pickup, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, having sold over 12 million trucks since its introduction in 1998 as a 1999 model year....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.0 V8 (360 Hp) DRW Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

A capable gasoline engine providing ample power for general tasks and moderate towing. The DRW configuration enhances stability for heavier loads, even without 4WD.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a notable concern for this large gasoline V8, particularly when loaded or in stop-and-go traffic, though slightly better than the 4WD variant.

Best Use Case: Work applications primarily on paved surfaces requiring high payload capacity and stable towing without the need for off-road capability.

Had one in my last 3 trucks and was reason number 1 I decided to stick with Chevy/GMC. No trouble at all in the last 17 years.
👍 POSITIVE
Had a 2017 and the tranny sucked, but the engine was great. My 2024 has the same engine and a better tranny. Love it.

This baby has over 307k miles. I did afm delete at 264k, but most won't hit those miles. Drive it like you stole it and keep up on maintenance and you'll be fine. https://preview.redd.it/yel68agkqu2g1.jpeg?width=1438&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6778a93e3baaf0eedf8553f2447be97b870b407c

I had an 08, 15 and now a 24. Great truck otherwise I wouldn’t be on my 3rd. Thankfully no issues, the negative comments get a lot of attention, great truck - enough said.
👎 NEGATIVE
I had 19 at4 5.3 for 145k. Did have lifters replaced under warranty at 60k then 145 needed news trans. Got the diesel instead of fixing trans. But other than that it was great no towing. All highway mainly in 6 years
👎 NEGATIVE
I had lifters in both sides done at 7k miles and am still having a ticking / collapsed lifter sound. Currently going through a lemon law case
👍 POSITIVE
5.3s are solid. I just got the sierra with the 3.0L diesel for $61k, zero miles (and I believe the 3.0l should add on a few grand?). $56k with almost 10k miles seems a little high. Maybe try to weasel a few more grand. Otherwise sweet truck.
👍 POSITIVE
Have a 23 with 40k on it no issues i change the oil every 5k
