The rebadged Nissan Pulsar into a second gen Holden Astra is a pretty close second especially if it's a manual, the first gen astra is probably third, also a Nissan Pulsar. Almost every Holden car is rebadged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Holden_vehicles_by_nameplate

My mother had an 1986 version. I learnt how to drive in it. It broke down 4 months after I started driving it. My parents blamed me. Dude. The cars 20 years old and they blamed me. It would overheat up hill and randomly switch off at high speeds. I would be gilding down the freeway into the emergency lane.
👎 NEGATIVE
Be careful it doesn't have the 1.4l turbo engine. If it does, run. Turbo failures, oil cooler failures, coolant leaks, water housing failures.... seen plenty of those things dead and dying.
😐 NEUTRAL
Do you still get spares and service for Holden. I would just go a Suzuki to be very honest
👍 POSITIVE
I've got one from 1986, it's all good!
👎 NEGATIVE
I've got one, biggest piece of shit ever manufactured. The 1.4T ecotecs are an absolute dog of an engine
😐 NEUTRAL
overseas its a vauxhall/opel corsa. and the poms modify the crap out of them.
👎 NEGATIVE
Just get a Honda Fit or Toyota Aqua. I hardly ever see those cheap small Holdens on the road and there's a good reason to avoid cheap cars that aren't common.
👎 NEGATIVE
Honestly, they are known to be junk. Very big risk. Mazda demio/2 honda fit/jazz, toyota yaris are all much better choices.
👎 NEGATIVE
Pain to get parts for, I’d steer clear of them as much as possible. Look for an established and still present manufacturer like Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc.
