It's a european designed daewoo that was designed to last 5-10 years that is now 10 years old. Spending $8,000 on it now is a great way to lose $15,000 over the next few years. If you want something that will actually require no fixing for the foreseeable future, a 2011-2020 manual toyota yaris with a full service history is possibly the most reliable car ever made, get one with a fresh clutch an

Trouble is they have multiple coolant leakage issues. May have fixed one but other (more serious?) one will no doubt follow.

Quite literally one of the least reliable cars Holden ever slapped their badge on. In every market they're sold in, they're known to be one of the worst cars money can buy. No idea why you'd buy one over a Toyota or Honda. Or basically anything else.

Honestly wouldn’t touch it for $8k, maybe $3k at best and just send it until it shits the bed. I understand it’s your parents and negotiating with them will be awkward but as a father I wouldn’t even consider giving my son a cruze for free let alone $8k.

Quite literally one of the most issue prone vehicles you can buy.

It is possible the later ones were better, but we have the pre-facelift ones at work, and my word they’re terrible cars - Constant battery issues - this is made worse by them not being driven enough, but everything is electric, so it all dies - Terrible engine and gearbox programming, gutless and daft - very low quality interior - all 2015 cars will be outdated tech, but it will also likely be se

Hope you know how to fix coolant leaks. To be fair, they never catastrophically fail. Coolant leaks, intake manifold failure, oil cooler, turbo failure are all common.

I used to be an admin of the Global Cruze Culture & Holden Cruze group on facebook about 7 years ago which had about 10k members. It felt like a hundred times a week we would see a post about someone's Cruzes automatic gearbox failing, or the 1.8 litre chucking a head gasket, or the 1.4/1.6 turbo engine blowing up yet another turbo. I owned a early single cam diesel with a manual. It was act

Nopeeeee there modern day lemons, owned one for 2 months (wof and reg) before the gearbox decided at the gas station it only works in reverse. Tried 10 mins getting it into drive, tippy mode, neutral dump assa last resort. Nothing worked so had to drive reverse homem Other then that they drive smooth and nice, but yeah temperamental things

I loved my cruze. I only sold it cause one of my dream cars came up at a too good to miss price. A lot of the unreliability comes from the fact that there were so many sold and they were mostly cheap. With so many sold, there's a greater number of people that won't look after them, bringing them a bad rep. Is your mums a base model or an SRI? The manual 1.6T were the better out of the variation
