Hyundai i20:
The Hyundai i20 is a supermini hatchback produced by Hyundai since 2008. The i20 made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008, and sits between the i10 and i30. The i20 replaces the Getz in nearly all of its markets, while several markets received the slightly larger Accent/Verna hatchback to replace it instead.
Currently, the largest markets for the i20 are Europe and India, with two different variations being developed to cater to each market.
The Hyundai i20 uses a completely new platform that was created at Hyundai's European technical centre in Rüsselsheim to allow Hyundai to move into Europe's highly competitive subcompact B segment. Suspension follows the supermini norm of MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam rear end, with rack and pinion steering....(Read more on Wikipedia)
II Active Overview:
Hyundai i20 (II Active). With 134 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. Weighing only 1050 kg, it’s quite light. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 11.9 s). The top speed reaches 178 km/h. A vehicle that combines characteristics of SUVs and hatchbacks for versatility. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
Performance Verdict
Offers smooth and predictable power delivery, suitable for city driving and light highway use, but lacks the punch of the turbocharged alternatives.
Fuel Economy
Acceptable fuel economy for a naturally aspirated petrol engine, though not as efficient as the diesel or 1.0 T-GDI options.
Best Use Case:
City driving, short commutes, and drivers preferring a simpler, non-turbo engine.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Raised ride height and rugged styling enhance practicality and appeal.
- • Comfortable ride quality, well-suited for varied road conditions.
- • Spacious and practical interior for its segment.
- • Good fuel economy, especially with the diesel and 1.0 T-GDI engines.
- • Hyundai's reputation for reliability and good warranty.
Cons:
- • Some engine options can feel underpowered for spirited driving.
- • Interior materials, while durable, can feel a bit basic in places.
- • Limited off-road capability despite the crossover appearance.
- • Not as engaging to drive as some rivals in the supermini segment.
