III (Y3) Overview:
Hyundai Sonata (III (Y3)). With 180 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. It has moderate fuel consumption (~9.9 l/100km). With a weight of 1320 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 12.5 s). The top speed reaches 194 km/h. Performance Verdict
A noticeable improvement in power over the SOHC 2.0L, providing a more spirited drive. The automatic transmission, while convenient, slightly hampers its full potential.
Fuel Economy
Decent fuel economy for its power output, though the automatic gearbox adds a slight penalty compared to its manual counterpart.
