5.6 V8 (325 Hp) AWD Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Excellent performance for a large SUV, with the 5.6L V8 delivering strong acceleration and ample power for towing or highway cruising, despite the AWD system adding weight.

Fuel Economy

Very poor fuel economy, as expected from a large V8 SUV of this era, making it expensive to run, especially in urban environments.

Best Use Case: Highway cruising, long-distance travel, and towing, where its power and stability shine. Less ideal for frequent city driving due to size and fuel consumption.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Powerful and smooth 5.6L V8 engine
  • • Spacious and comfortable interior with 7-8 seats
  • • Excellent towing capacity for its class
  • • Robust body-on-frame construction
  • • Good ride quality for a large SUV

Cons:

  • • Very poor fuel economy, especially in urban settings
  • • Large exterior dimensions can make city driving and parking challenging
  • • Interior technology feels dated compared to newer rivals
  • • High running costs beyond just fuel (tires, maintenance)
  • • Limited off-road capability despite AWD option
