Performance Verdict
Sharing the same 125 Hp diesel engine, this 2WD variant offers slightly improved performance and responsiveness compared to the AWD model due to reduced drivetrain losses and potentially lower weight. Still not quick, but sufficient for daily driving.
Fuel Economy
This 2WD diesel variant should offer the best fuel economy among the S350 lineup, benefiting from the diesel's inherent efficiency and the absence of the AWD system's drag.
Best Use Case:
General daily driving, long-distance cruising, and urban environments where AWD is not a necessity but diesel economy is desired.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Affordable purchase price for a large SUV
- • Spacious interior and decent cargo capacity
- • Robust ladder-frame chassis suitable for rough roads
- • Good ground clearance (225 mm) for light off-roading
- • Available AWD for enhanced traction
Cons:
- • Underpowered engines, leading to sluggish performance
- • High fuel consumption, especially for petrol AWD variants
- • Basic interior quality and limited refinement
- • Uncertain long-term reliability and parts availability outside China
- • Lack of independent safety ratings (Euro NCAP)
