3.7 V6 (270 Hp) AWD Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

With the same power as the FWD 3.7L, the AWD system adds weight and drivetrain losses, resulting in slightly diminished acceleration feel compared to its FWD counterpart. Still adequate for most situations.

Fuel Economy

The addition of AWD significantly impacts fuel economy, bringing it on par with the much more powerful 3.5L EcoBoost. This makes it a less efficient choice if AWD isn't a strict necessity.

Best Use Case: All-Weather Driving, Northern Climates

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional ride comfort and quiet cabin
  • • Spacious interior with available third-row seating
  • • Powerful and efficient EcoBoost engine option
  • • Distinctive and unique styling
  • • Good standard features for its class

Cons:

  • • Polarizing exterior design not for everyone
  • • Fuel economy can be high, especially with AWD models
  • • Large size can make city maneuvering challenging
  • • Steering feel can be numb for some drivers
  • • Depreciation can be significant
