Metrocab Taxi:
The MCW Metrocab is a taxicab that was manufactured between 1987 and 2000 and as the Metrocab TTT from 2000 to 2006. Performance Verdict
The 75 Hp 2.5 D engine, paired with an automatic transmission, is likely underpowered for the Metrocab TTT's kerb weight (1955 kg). Acceleration will be sluggish, potentially struggling on inclines or with a full load.
Fuel Economy
While a naturally aspirated diesel, the lower power output might force the engine to work harder, potentially negating significant fuel economy advantages over the turbocharged variant, especially with the automatic gearbox.
Best Use Case:
Light Urban Taxi Operations / Cost-conscious fleets
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Exceptional turning circle (8.5m), ideal for tight urban streets.
- • Robust, durable construction suitable for continuous taxi service.
- • Spacious and practical interior for passengers and luggage.
- • Diesel engines offer reasonable fuel economy for its class.
- • Purpose-built design for taxi operations.
Cons:
- • Limited engine performance, especially the 75 Hp variant.
- • Basic interior comfort and amenities.
- • Outdated technology compared to contemporary passenger vehicles.
- • Rear leaf spring suspension may lead to a less refined ride.
- • Not suitable for highway cruising due to limited top speed and comfort.
