2.4 i 16V (142 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Adequate for daily commuting and city driving, but the 4-speed automatic transmission dulls performance, making it feel sluggish for spirited driving. It's a reliable workhorse rather than a performer.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is average for its displacement and era, with urban consumption around 10.2 l/100 km. It's acceptable for a daily driver but not particularly efficient.

Best Use Case: City / Commuting

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Distinctive and sporty exterior styling
  • • Potent V6 engine option (GT trim) offering good performance
  • • Generally reliable powertrains (4G64, 6G72) if maintained
  • • Affordable on the used market, offering good value
  • • Comfortable front seats for a coupe

Cons:

  • • Base 2.4L engine can feel underpowered, especially with automatic transmission
  • • Limited rear seat space and cargo capacity, typical for a 2+2 coupe
  • • Interior materials feel dated compared to some rivals
  • • Front-wheel drive limits ultimate handling potential for a 'sport' coupe
  • • Lack of Euro NCAP safety rating for European market comparison
