GT4 2.0i 16V (220 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Combining the potent SR20DET engine with an automatic transmission, this GT4 offers thrilling performance with added convenience. It's still very quick, just with less driver involvement than a manual.

Fuel Economy

Similar to the manual GT4, expect high fuel consumption. This trim prioritizes power and ease of use over fuel efficiency.

Best Use Case: Performance-oriented daily driver, enthusiasts who prefer an automatic transmission for spirited driving and practicality.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious and practical station wagon body
  • • Wide range of engines, including powerful turbo variants (SR20DET)
  • • Reputable Nissan reliability, especially with SR20DE and QG18DE engines
  • • Available 4x4 for all-weather capability
  • • Comfortable ride quality for long journeys

Cons:

  • • Primarily JDM, making parts and support challenging outside Japan
  • • Naturally aspirated engines can feel underpowered when fully loaded
  • • Older automatic transmissions and CVTs may lack modern refinement and efficiency
  • • Fuel economy for 4x4 and turbo models can be high
  • • Interior design is functional but lacks modern aesthetics
