Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Delivers strong HEMI V8 power with 4x4 capability in a single rear wheel 3500, providing a good balance of heavy-duty performance and maneuverability.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy will be similar to the 2500 4x4 HEMI, offering acceptable figures for a heavy-duty petrol 4x4, but still higher than diesel alternatives.

Best Use Case: Heavy-duty work, ranching, or construction where 4x4 is essential but the extreme width and capacity of DRW are not always needed.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and payload capacities, especially with Cummins HO diesel.
  • • Powerful engine options (HEMI V8 and Cummins HO diesel) for diverse needs.
  • • Comfortable and well-appointed interior for a heavy-duty truck.
  • • Robust build quality and proven drivetrain components.
  • • Available advanced technology and safety features.
  • • Optional air suspension enhances ride comfort and load leveling.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy can be a significant concern, particularly with the HEMI V8.
  • • Large size can make urban maneuvering and parking challenging.
  • • High purchase price for top-tier trims and diesel engine options.
  • • Maintenance costs for the diesel engine can be higher.
  • • Ride quality, while good for its class, is still that of a heavy-duty truck.
