Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 4.0 V6 offers strong, smooth power delivery, making highway cruising and overtaking effortless. Its 238 Hp and 376 Nm torque provide ample grunt for towing and off-road challenges, though it's not a performance SUV.

Fuel Economy

Fuel consumption is a significant drawback, with a combined figure of 13 l/100 km. This V6 is thirsty, especially under heavy load or in city driving, making it less economical for daily use.

Best Use Case: Highway cruising, towing heavy loads, serious off-road adventures where power is paramount.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional Toyota reliability and durability
  • • Strong off-road capability with 4WD options
  • • Spacious 7-seater interior, practical for families
  • • Choice of powerful V6 petrol or economical D-4D diesel engines
  • • High ground clearance and robust suspension for rough terrain

Cons:

  • • Body-on-frame construction leads to a less refined ride than car-based SUVs
  • • High fuel consumption for the 4.0 V6 petrol engine
  • • Interior design and materials can feel dated compared to rivals
  • • Rear drum brakes on some trims are a drawback for modern standards
  • • Limited advanced safety features compared to contemporary European models
