Toyota Wish:

The Toyota Wish is an automobile produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota from 2003 to 2017. It is a compact MPV with standard three-row seating, and was positioned between the Corolla Spacio and the Ipsum in Toyota's minivan lineup. In Japan, it was available at Toyota Netz dealerships.
Apart from Japan, the Wish was also assembled in Thailand and Taiwan. It was also sold in Hong Kong, where it was imported from Japan.
The Wish was developed under code name "760N" by the team, led by chief engineer named Takeshi Yoshida and was introduced to the public for the first time at Tokyo Motor Show in October 2002 and then launched in Japan in January 2003, under a massive publicity campaign with Japanese singer Hikaru Utada. 1.8 (125 Hp) 4WD Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 125 Hp 1.8L engine provides adequate power for daily driving, though it can feel strained when fully loaded or on steep inclines. The 4WD system adds traction but slightly dulls acceleration.

Fuel Economy

With 7.8 l/100 km, this 4WD variant is less fuel-efficient than its FWD counterparts, a trade-off for enhanced all-weather capability.

Best Use Case: Regions with challenging weather conditions or light off-road needs, where 4WD is beneficial, but mostly city/suburban driving.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Excellent Toyota reliability and low maintenance costs.
  • • Versatile 6-7 seat configuration with practical interior space.
  • • Good fuel economy, especially with the 1.8L FWD and 2.0L CVT-i engines.
  • • Smooth and comfortable ride quality suitable for families.
  • • Facelifted styling provides a refreshed, modern look.

Cons:

  • • CVT-i transmission can feel unengaging to some drivers.
  • • Limited power in the 1.8L 4WD variant, especially when fully loaded.
  • • Not officially tested by Euro NCAP, safety ratings are inferred.
  • • Interior materials, while durable, might lack premium feel compared to some rivals.
  • • Primarily FWD, with 4WD option adding complexity and reducing economy.
