Citroen Jumpy:
The Citroën Jumpy is a light commercial van jointly developed by FCA Italy and PSA Group , and previously manufactured by Sevel, a joint venture between the two companies formed in 1994. The Jumpy is also sold as the Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Opel Vivaro, and Toyota ProAce.
All three models were facelifted in March 2004 before being replaced by new, second-generation models in 2007. The redesigned models again shared the same design and engineering, with subtle trim changes between each brand. Performance Verdict
Sufficient for general use, but the longer wheelbase and potential for heavier loads might highlight its limitations.
Fuel Economy
Good fuel economy, slightly higher than L1 due to increased weight and size, but still very competitive.
Best Use Case:
Mixed driving, family transport with occasional longer trips, light commercial duties.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Enormous and highly versatile interior space for passengers and cargo
- • Strong and fuel-efficient diesel engine options (HDi 128hp, 136hp, 163hp)
- • Practical and robust for large families or commercial use
- • Comfortable ride for a van-derived MPV
- • Good visibility from the driver's seat
Cons:
- • Van-like driving dynamics and handling, not as refined as car-based MPVs
- • Lower Euro NCAP safety rating compared to contemporary passenger cars
- • Petrol engines are significantly less fuel-efficient
- • 1.6 HDi (90 Hp) engine is underpowered for a vehicle of this size, especially when loaded
- • Interior quality is utilitarian rather than luxurious
