Diamond 4.3i V6 (190 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 4.3L V6 delivers sufficient power and robust torque, making it capable for everyday use and highway cruising. The Diamond trim offers the same dependable performance with enhanced features.

Fuel Economy

Fuel efficiency remains a weak point, particularly in urban environments (15.7 l/100 km). This V6, while reliable, is not designed for economy, reflecting its 1990s design.

Best Use Case: Highway travel, family trips, and those seeking a more premium trim level without the constant need for 4x4. Suitable for mixed driving conditions.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Robust 4x4 capability (on relevant trims)
  • • Spacious interior and cargo capacity
  • • Reliable 4.3L V6 engine with good torque
  • • Comfortable ride for its class and era
  • • Strong towing capacity

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy across all trims
  • • Outdated interior and safety features by modern standards
  • • Vague steering and handling characteristics
  • • Prone to rust in some areas, especially older models
  • • Limited refinement compared to later SUVs
