Rating 2 stars

Performance Verdict

Extremely underpowered, primarily suited for utility work at low speeds. On-road performance is severely limited, making it unsuitable for highway travel.

Fuel Economy

Decent fuel economy for its time, but the lack of power often means working the engine harder, negating some efficiency benefits.

Best Use Case: Farm vehicle, slow-speed utility, extreme off-road where torque matters more than speed.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Unmatched off-road capability and durability.
  • • Iconic, timeless design with strong heritage.
  • • Excellent parts availability and repairability.
  • • Strong resale value for well-maintained examples.
  • • Highly customizable for various uses.

Cons:

  • • Poor on-road comfort and refinement.
  • • Limited passive safety features by modern standards.
  • • High fuel consumption for petrol V8s.
  • • Slow acceleration, especially with lower-powered engines.
  • • Prone to rust in certain areas if not maintained.
