Performance Verdict

The 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) provides significantly more torque and horsepower, making it an excellent choice for heavy towing and demanding off-road excursions with its powerful 4x4 system.

Fuel Economy

As expected, the V8 is the least fuel-efficient option, with higher running costs, but offers superior power for its class.

Best Use Case: Heavy-duty towing, serious off-roading, long-distance highway cruising with substantial cargo, and situations requiring maximum power and traction.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional Toyota reliability and durability
  • • Strong off-road capability (especially 4x4 models)
  • • Powerful V8 engine option for towing and heavy loads
  • • Spacious and practical interior with optional third-row seating
  • • Strong resale value

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy across all engine options
  • • Ride quality can be truck-like, especially on rough roads
  • • Interior design is somewhat dated by modern standards
  • • Large turning circle can make maneuvering in tight spaces challenging
  • • Limited advanced safety features compared to newer vehicles
