I actually did read this because I also have a 2022 SEL R LINE. I've already gotten multiple Low Oil warnings and dealerships don't care. They tell you to keep adding oil and pray then schedule you for an appointment six weeks later.

\*\*\*Update less than 24 hours out of the shop\*\*\* EPC light came on while I was driving to a dealership to see about trading in my 2022 Tiguan SEL R Line. I pulled over and the entire underside of the car was dripping oil. Limped the car home on frontage roads because I couldn't get it up to highway speeds. These vehicles are complete garbage and so is VW of American and their dealerships.

Avoid Jetta, unreliable. Regarding Civic the HYBRID version is much better. It's quicker than the 1.5t too.

I can't speak for the 2024 Taos, but the previous model years have been really bad with reliability. Just because of that I would avoid them. It's unfortunate because they are a great package. Newer Jetta's have proven to be pretty decent. I think you have to weigh the cost of purchase versus the long term cost and go with whichever one you like best based off a combination of how the car appeal

One thing I want to highlight is that although the cars have similar MSRP does not mean they will be the same price. Different dealerships and brands have different rates and move different amounts. You should really look to get actual prices from the dealerships before considering. Overall I'd probably pick the Jetta, Although Honda will technically be better for reliability, its VW not some sma

If your goal is reliability, dump the Jetta. There are reliable VWs, but anything with a 1.5T has been trouble so far. As for picking between the other three, read [this Motor Trend comparison test](https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2019-honda-civic-2020-toyota-corolla-2019-mazda3-comparison-test/). Only one thing has changed since the 2019 model year: the Civic has gotten a lot more expensive.

Poor maintenance. That is people describe toyotas as bullet proof. They survive poor maintenance better and have less maintenance issues. But go drive a corolla and them drive a jetta and tell me which brings you joy and which drives like a gokart. Vw all day just maintain it
