Stay away from that generation T5 (5 cyl), or at least 2010-2013 models. Otherwise, expect piston ring failure. It is the same platform so the engines are the same. I would aim for a T6 or 3.2 (same engine but the T6 is turbo)
👍 POSITIVE
It's funny you traded a Mazda for a Volvo XC60 because I did something similar. I was buying my first car and settled on a Mazda CX-5 and loved it, but after a week the check engine light came on, when I took it back to the dealership(Volvo/Mazda joint) turns out I just forgot to tighten the fuel cap (first car) but they had a 09 VolvoXC90 on the lot and I just loved it. The dealership let me trad
👍 POSITIVE
2011-2015 --T6 3.0T. Any of the p3 models with the T6..not the troublesome t5...solid motor and trans. Good Build quality before the downhill fall
👍 POSITIVE
I bought a 2011 v50 2.4 fwd ten years ago and it’s been great. Only oil changes, cv axles and an ac compressor in a decade.
😐 NEUTRAL
Funny how no one is mentioning the most used engine across almost 4 different models The 3.2L engine used on the xc60,xc70,xc90,s80 and some others.
👍 POSITIVE
I've had a 2015 v60 R with the t6 for 10+ years now. not really many issues to deal with outside normal wear items. 85k miles and it needed a starter around 65k miles and 2 speed sensors around 82k miles. def a solid car.
👍 POSITIVE
From what I've gathered on Swedespeed, 2015.5 XC70 T6 is the bees knees for the last REALLY Volvo feeling Volvo. Personally, I've never driven one. The closest would be a 2010 S80 V8. Very nice car. Very expensive valve cover gasket leaks, and engine cradle replacements. Both of which are not an issue on the 6 cyl cars.
👍 POSITIVE
Nice! Both my cars are on the list! Here's to years of dependable driving ahead
