The Chevrolet Silverado is a range of trucks manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. Introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado is the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K model line. Taking its name from the top trim level from the Chevrolet C/K series, the Silverado is offered as a series of full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the identically related GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, high-trim level versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name Starting with the LT trim. Standard and "Custom" trims are still called Silverado. Competing against the Ford F-Series, Ram pickup, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, having sold over 12 million trucks since its introduction in 1998 as a 1999 model year....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.0 V8 (360 Hp) 4WD SRW Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Provides adequate power for general heavy-duty tasks and moderate towing, with the added traction of 4WD, though single rear wheels limit ultimate payload/towing compared to DRW.

Fuel Economy

High fuel consumption is expected due to the petrol V8 and 4WD system, making it less economical for frequent heavy loads.

Best Use Case: Off-road work sites, general contracting, recreational towing where 4WD is needed but DRW is overkill.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, especially with Duramax diesel.
  • • Robust and durable construction, built for heavy-duty work.
  • • Wide range of configurations (SRW, DRW, 2WD, 4WD) to suit various needs.
  • • Comfortable and spacious crew cab for passengers.

Cons:

  • • Large size can be challenging for city driving and parking.
  • • Fuel economy is generally low, particularly with petrol engines.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff when unloaded, typical for HD trucks.
  • • Interior, while functional, might lack some premium touches found in competitors.
