Performance Verdict

Offers robust power for general hauling and lighter towing, though it can feel strained with maximum loads compared to diesel options.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a significant drawback, especially under load, making it less ideal for high-mileage heavy-duty applications.

Best Use Case: General utility, occasional heavy towing, regional hauling where diesel isn't mandated or preferred.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, especially with Duramax diesel engines.
  • • Robust and durable construction designed for heavy-duty work.
  • • Wide range of configurations (4WD/2WD, SRW/DRW) to suit diverse needs.
  • • Powerful engine options, including the highly capable Duramax diesel.
  • • Spacious interior for a regular cab, with functional controls.

Cons:

  • • Gasoline engine fuel economy is poor, particularly under load.
  • • Ride comfort can be stiff and truck-like when unladen.
  • • Large size makes maneuverability challenging in urban environments.
  • • Higher purchase price for diesel variants and top trims.
  • • Interior materials, while durable, may lack the refinement of some competitors.
