I had a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta SE with the 2.5L. I put 48K on the car without a single issue, Also my sister has a 2012 Passat S with the 2.5L and shes currently around 60K and has not had an issue.

I worked with VW for a number of years before going to Honda. I remember when VW redesigned the Jetta in 2011. The 2.5L is an interesting motor. It is not the most efficient but it runs like a champ. The only complaint I heard from the Master Tech was that it was louder than it should be.
The CPO warranty from VW is good at any VW dealer. If a certain dealer tells you that it is only good

If it's a 2.0 gas engine, and the timing belt broke, you are done! Engine top end will be ruined, bent valves, ect.....My suggestion is if the Mazda is in decent condition go with it. In the future, do not buy European cars, they are expensive to fix and maintain.

Its the timing chain tensioner that allowed the chain to jump a tooth or two. They have redesigned the tensioner so it wont happen again. Replace the timing chains and tensioners and it'll be fine. I've never seen on of these where the chain jumped enough to cause damage to the valves. $4k is a little steep for a timing job on a jetta, usually bills out around here for $2500..

If you loved the fit so much, buy another one ! In my opinion, try to find one slightly under market price so that if you have to resell it in 3 months, you will lose some of your money, but not a substantial amount

Poor maintenance. That is people describe toyotas as bullet proof. They survive poor maintenance better and have less maintenance issues. But go drive a corolla and them drive a jetta and tell me which brings you joy and which drives like a gokart. Vw all day just maintain it

My 2003 Jetta TDI ran like a top but anything electrical in it was fucked, especially the door sensors.
My 2019 Golf Alltrack with 90,000 miles on the clock sounds and feels like the day I bought it. I love it.

I’d like to get out of mine. But I owe more than it’s worth. 2019 Passat Wolfsburg.
But I’ve had to replace the engine - leaking oil more than VW could pinpoint. They replaced it under warranty.
I’ve also replaced the transmission because it just failed and wouldn’t shift anymore. They found metal in trans fluid and replaced it under warranty.
Now I’m gun shy. I have no more warranty left (o
